Steve Turner is co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of International Broadband Electric Communications, Inc., a Huntsville, Alabama-based provider of products and services for the burgeoning broadband-over-powerline (BPL) marketplace. Prior to IBEC , Turner served as Vice President, General Manager, and Chief Technical Officer at Verilink Corporation; as Vice President of Extended Range Products at Adtran, Inc.; and as Director of Research & Advanced Development at Motorola Information Systems. Turner holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University and a MS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri.

BPL Technology Crossfire

“What are the technical capabilities of BPL now and what are the challenges going forward … I ask you [insert name of BPL Exec here]???” This will be the central question during this roundtable among BPL industry leaders. But, there will be so many more detailed questions both from the moderator and the audience. Focus areas will be technology status, speeds, network considerations and standards. This lively discussion will depart from the canned presentations of the past and get to the meat of the technical issues for BPL as it goes commercial.
